Enriched Air Nitrox
The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty at Signature Scuba Gili Trawangan teaches you how to safely dive with enriched air mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen.
Under the guidance of our SSI & PADI certified instructors, you’ll learn about nitrox theory, oxygen safety, gas analysis, and how to set your dive computer for enriched air diving
The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty course is a combination of theoretical learning and practical application designed to enhance your diving experience.
Dive with higher oxygen content to extend your no-decompression limits and reduce post-dive fatigue. This is the most popular specialty for a reason — more bottom time, less tired after diving. Nitrox allows you to make the most of your dive vacation by maximizing your time underwater while feeling more energetic between dives.
📖 Course Overview
The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty course is designed to teach you how to safely dive with breathing gas that contains a higher percentage of oxygen than standard compressed air (21%). By learning to use Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) — typically EANx 32 or 36 — you'll enjoy longer no-decompression limits, shorter surface intervals, and reduced post-dive fatigue.
The course combines comprehensive theoretical learning with practical application. You'll study the physics and physiology of diving with enriched air, including oxygen toxicity, partial pressure limits, and gas blending basics. The classroom portion covers how to analyze Nitrox cylinders, set your dive computer correctly, and plan dives within safe oxygen exposure limits.
During the practical session, you'll complete one guided open water dive using Enriched Air Nitrox, applying your classroom knowledge in real-world conditions. You'll practice analyzing your own cylinder, setting up your equipment, and executing a dive plan that takes full advantage of Nitrox benefits while maintaining strict safety protocols.
Upon successful completion, you'll earn the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty certification — one of the most valuable and widely used specialties in recreational diving. Many divers choose Nitrox for liveaboard trips, multi-day dive vacations, and deeper recreational diving where extended bottom times make a significant difference.

🏆 Why Sign Up for Enriched Air Nitrox?
Extend your no-decompression limits by 50-100% compared to standard air, giving you more time to explore.
Lower nitrogen absorption means you'll feel more energetic and less tired after multiple dives in a day.
Get back in the water faster — Nitrox allows for reduced surface intervals between dives.
Perfect for liveaboards and multi-day trips where every minute underwater counts.
Nitrox is the most sought-after specialty among recreational divers — for good reason.
Required knowledge for Divemaster, Instructor, and technical diving certifications.
